France announces Covid-19 vaccination program for citizens in Vietnam
The program will also cover all employees of the France-Vietnam diplomatic network and their spouses.
The vaccine used for this program, which is funded by the French government, is the U.S.’s Moderna. Each person on the list would receive two doses several weeks apart, the ambassador stated Tuesday.
The campaign will start from now until the end of July in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam is suffering the most challenging Covid-19 wave ever, which broke out in the nation in late April.
Since then, more than 33,000 community infections have been recorded in 58 of its 63 cities and provinces.
HCMC is now the epicenter with over 18,200 cases.
The nation has so far vaccinated more than four million of its 96-million population.
