Vietnam records 147,335 new Covid cases
The three localities with the highest number of new cases were Hanoi with 32,317 cases, Nghe An with 10,153 cases, and Bac Ninh with 7,873 cases.
Of the day's tally, 90,399 cases were detected in the community.
The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam rose to 40,894 with the confirmation of 78 deaths Monday.
The Health Ministry also confirmed 36,993 recoveries the same day, bringing the total number of recovered cases so far to 2,718,440.
Over 76.4 million people of Vietnam's 96 million population have been vaccinated with two doses, and more than 41.8 million have received the third dose.
