Fish Mint
Since ancient times, fish mint has been used for herbs and spices to help with digestion and enhancing food. According to Eastern traditional medicine, fish mints spicy and cold nature helps lessening internal temperature, filtering, improving bladder and disinfecting. Because of that, it has numerous great effects recorded and documented in old writings.
Usage of fish mint (Houttuynia Cordata Thunb)
- Curing hemorrhoids: Eat raw fish mint daily. Alternatively, use fish mint water to sauna, submerge and wash while it's still warm. Then use the pulp to cover the anus.
- Curing constipation: Pan-dry 10g of fish mint then submerge the pulp in boiling water. Substitute for tea daily. Drink for 10 days.
- Curing fever for children: Wash 30g of fresh fish mint then mash, add half a bowl of water then boil, let it cool and drink once a day. Also use the pulp and rub it on the temples.
- Curing irregular menstruation: 40g fish mint, 30g mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) both fresh. Wash both, finely chop then filter with plain water. Take 1 bowl of medicine. Drink twice a day for 5 days straight. Drink 10 days before menstruation cycle
- Curing vaginal infection: 20g fish mint, 10g Chinese honey locust (Gleditsia sinensis), 1 small garlic. Put all in a pot with 5 bowls of water and boil. Sauna the infected area. Afterwards submerge in plain water and wash the infected area. Once per day for 7 days straight.
- Curing zit: Eat raw fish mint or grind it and apply on zit
- Curing zit (without pus): Wash and grind 12g fish mint, apply to zit twice per day for 3 days
- Curing middle ear infection: 20g fish mint, 10g red apple, 60ml water. Get 200ml of mixed solution and divide into 3 parts drink for three times a day.
- Curing bronchitis: 20g fish mints, 20g licorice. Mix into condensed solution and drink during the entire day
- Curing kidney stones: 15g fish mint, 15g dwarf copperleaf (Alternanthera sessilis), 10g licorice. Drink the solution once per day for a month. Or 100g fish mint, roast, then put into 1 litres of boiling water. Drink substitute for water and drink for 2 months.
- Curing swollen breast due to milk clog: 25g fish mint, 10 red apples. Boil with 3 bowls of water until there is only 1 bowl worth total. Divide into 2 portions and drink twice a day for 3 -5 days.
- Curing eye septic due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Wash 35g fish mint then slightly wash with plain water. Let it dry then grind it, put on 2 clean gauzes then put it on the infected eye before sleep for 3 - 5 days.
