Hanoi 2nd metro route elevated tracks to be tested

Hanoi’s second metro line from Nhon to Hanoi Railway Station will test its elevated section on Thursday as it prepares to begin commercial operations later this year.

Trains will run 8.5 kilometers from Nhon in Bac Tu Liem District to the University of Transport and Communications in Dong Da District.

Operators and foreign experts will test the systems on six of the 10 trains that have arrived so far.

The elevated section is now 90 percent complete while the line, which will also run four kilometers underground, is 70 percent finished.

In all it will run 12.5 kilometers through the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, and Hoan Kiem.
