Tay Nguyen: A patient died suspected due to Dengue Fever

Information from Tay Nguyen general hospital reported that in Dak Lak, another patient died suspected due to Dengue Fever. The patient was a young boy born in 2010, resident of town 7, Cu M'gar commune, Cu M'gar District, Dak Lak Province.

According to the doctors, at 3PM August 20th, the patient was brought into emergency at Tay Nguyen general hospital while having seizures, purple lips, cold limbs with purpled veins and hemorhaging spots all over the body. Body weirdly inflated.

They diagnosed that the patient has Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS) 6 days, Respiratory Failure stage IV, overweight. Doctors have immediately give him emergency treatment but the disease worsen and killed the young boy during evening of the same day.

Currently Dak Lak medical organization had taken samples of the patient and send them to Tay Nguyen Sanitary and Phytosanitary Institute for further research. According to the patient family, during afternoon of August 15th, the boy has symptoms of continuous fever. The family had brought him to get treatment from private owned hospital and infused 5 bottles of aiding fluid of unknown origin. At morning of August 20th, the patient was still in constant fever and having purpled veins accross the body. His family brought him to Cu M'gar General Hospital while he is in shock. Afterwards, he was moved to Tay Nguyen General Hospital for treatment.

This is the 3rd fatality from Dengue Fever this year in Dak Lak. Up until 20th August, there have been 12 thousand recorded cases of Dengue Fever. Dengue Fever has an outbreak that spreaded to 15 districts, towns and citys and mostly focused in Buon Ma Thuot city, Buon Don, Cu M'gar district, Krong Ana, Krong Pak,....
