More than 147,000 COVID-19 patients recover
Vietnam currently ranks 68th out of 222 countries and territories in terms of the number of infected people and ranks 169th out of 222 countries and territories in terms of the ratio of infections per million people (3,540 infections per million people).
Eight out of the 63 provinces and cities that have not recorded any new cases for 14 days including Quang Ninh, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh, Hai Phong, Yen Bai, and Ha Giang.
Meanwhile, five provinces and cities report the highest number of cases including Ho Chi Minh City (175,994), Binh Duong (70,242), Long An (17,805), Dong Nai (17,688), and Tien Giang (7,284).
The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam was 8,277 as of August 22, accounting for 2.4% of the total infections in the country and equivalent to the world average rate.
About 9,450,525 test samples from 27,763,959 people have been taken from April 27 while 17,065,896 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
